4429

Derived from the legendary JBL® model 4425 studio monitor – the brand’s first compression-driver system with a Bi-Radial® horn and a large-format woofer – the 4429 studio monitor incorporates a number of important improvements designed to give true studio performance in transportable size without requiring a subwoofer. An ultrahigh-frequency transducer, an improved high-frequency compression driver and horn design, a new crossover network and improved internal bracing combine to give the 4429 an advantage over previous models in the naturalness, clarity and detail of its sound. Featuring a massive, 12-inch (300-millimeter) woofer and large compression drivers mounted in a one-piece SonoGlass® horn, the 4429 delivers quick, tight bass, a natural, well-focused midrange and clear, distinct highs to create listening experiences with all the richness and detail of live performances – all while delivering up to 200 watts when powered by a separate amplifier. Effortlessly delivering the full bandwidth and dynamics of the newest digital media – yet without suppression at any listening level – the 4429 reveals subtleties that you may never before have experienced in recorded music. JBL engineers have directed every detail of the loudspeaker’s design and construction toward a single goal: uncompromised sonic performance.

JBL engineers designed the JBL 4429 Studio Monitor to deliver enhanced, room-filling sound from a compatible AVR (audio/video receiver) or 25- to 200-watt power amplifier.
The 4429’s 12-inch (300-millimeter) pure-pulp cone woofer, large-aperture ferrite magnet, edge-wound aluminum voice-coil assembly and 1200FE-8 driver combine to deliver impressively deep, visceral bass that will not degrade at any volume level. You’ll hear low frequencies with clarity and power.
With a 1-3/4-inch (44-millimeter) pure-titanium diaphragm, the 4429’s 175Nd-3 compression driver produces extremely accurate midrange to high-frequency performance with minimal distortion and power compression. The result is explosively realistic dynamics at all listening levels.
The 4429’s 3/4-inch (19-millimeter), pure-titanium diaphragm produces realistic dynamics far beyond the range of human hearing, with ultrasmooth response that is ideal for replaying high-resolution audio formats. The speaker’s high-frequency sounds come through loud and clear.
Dense, mechanically inert high- and ultrahigh-frequency horns made from dense, acoustically inert SonoGlass resin with extremely precise Bi-Radial horn flares eliminate horn resonances for clear, distortion-free audio. The sound is simply beautiful.
A pair of front-mounted ports provides the 4429 with optimal low-frequency tuning for extended bass response. These ports allow you to place the speaker against a wall with no sound anomalies.
Adjustable mid- and high-frequency attenuators within a high-quality dividing network let you tailor the 4429’s midrange and high-frequency performance to match room acoustics or your personal preference.
JBL loudspeakers have been the choice of music and movie professionals for more than 60 years; they are behind the screens of more than 50 percent of all movie theaters and hang in concert venues everywhere. Many of your favorite songs and movie soundtracks were mixed or mastered on JBL studio monitors. But you don’t have to be a recording-industry professional to bring JBL sound home. Our home systems use technologies, materials and manufacturing techniques developed for professional speakers.
