  • Make sure your smart phone supports BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and it is connected to Smartbase via Bluetooth.
  • The registration success rate and quality of voice commands depends on the performance of your smart phone’s microphone. Make sure that your smart phone’s microphone is unobstructed and you are speaking clearly when registering commands. If you continue to have issues, try registering using a family member or friend’s smart phone as a test. If voice command registration is successful with their device, the microphone on your smart phone may have issues.
  • Android N, version 7.0 may have some compatibility issues, that are resolved with Android version 7.1. If your device is running Android N 7.0, please update it to 7.1 which should fix your issue.
  • What you are experiencing is normal. The JBL Free will automatically switch to mono mode on the RIGHT ear when the call starts. After the call ends stereo music mode will automatically resume.
  • Your device has entered full standby-mode, which means it shuts down all activity to have the lowest power consumption. This is a requirement for any product in Europe in order to reduce power consumption for devices in your home. To use the HK Remote app again, simply switch ON your device with the original remote control or the front panel on/off button.

  • The most important thing, is to be sure that both blue LEDs must flash quickly, one on the center speaker, one on the subwoofer. If just one of these LEDs does not flash quickly, pairing cannot take place. If it is difficult to make one of the LEDs change to quick flash, it may be that the button is held too long, or not pressed in the right angle. Try again with a short, firm press less then a second.
  • It is important to use the correct HDMI connection on the BDS, marked with ARC. Also, the proper input must be selected with the AUX input selector button, which scrolls between the six AUX inputs. It always selects the AUX input that you used last, so once you have used the AUX ARC input, the BDS unit remembers it until you select another AUX input. Of course you have to have a TV which actually supports ARC.
  • Look at the back of the primary speaker, which is the one with pause/play and volume controls. You will see a switch called "mode". This switch can be in either S or P position. S stands for Secondary, P stands for Primary. Switch to Primary, and your speaker will now open Bluetooth and will accept analog signals. (The Secondary position is used for systems where four speakers are in use, since only one speaker can act as primary speaker.)
