  • Is my Partybox Supported by the JBL Partybox App?
    This model is not supported by the JBL Partybox App.
  • Is the AKG N5005 a wired or a wireless headphone?
    Actually the N5005 is very special, because it is BOTH wireless and wired, right out of the box! This is a result of its advanced design, where the cables can be removed from the speaker pods by clicking apart the MMCX connectors. The flexibility in this arrangement becomes very clear when you look at the cables that are in the box when you open it. First, there is the normal cable with 3.5 mm stereo jack and a three-button remote control. This cable is for normal sources, smartphones, tablet computers etc. There is a switch on the back of the remote that permits you to select Android/universal or iOS remote function, for total flexibility. Second, you get the Bluetooth cable, which has a battery box and a three-button remote on the cable. This cable simply converts your N5005 into a wireless headphone. AptX and AAC are supported, but not aptX HD or LL. BT transmission will not be capable of unlocking the full potential of the N5005 due to its nature as a lossy compression system, but it is nice to have this option. The cable has a chin slide lock that can secure the headphones under your chin. Playing time is up to 8 hours, and charging takes place in less than 2 hours. Third, as an indication of the high quality of audio that N5005 masters, you get a special, fully balanced cable without remote control. It uses the 4-pole 2.5 mm jack that you will find on the new generation of high-end headphone amplifiers and music players. With this connection and the proper source material and electronics, you can experience the pinnacle of music reproduction.
  • Is the App required to operate the headphone?
    No. All of the Everest Elite headphones are designed to offer the key features and benefits to the user without the need for the app. The My JBL Headphones App gives the consumer another level of control over the headphones. Through the app, the consumer can personalize the performance of the headphones such as: varying levels of the ambient aware, creating custom eq settings, and turning features on or off.
  • Is the Carrying Case Waterproof?
    No, the case is NOT waterproof
  • Is the case made of real leather?
    No it is a premium material with leather look.
  • Is the Clip 3 waterproof?
    Yes. The Clip 3 has an IPX 7 rating. You can take the speaker under water, down to 1 meter depth up to 30 minutes.
  • Is the conference function of the Esquire model dependent on the operating system of a computer?
    No, the operating system itself is not crucial, and no additional driver is necessary for Bluetooth connection of speaker and microphone.
  • Is the device still splash-proof if the zipper over the connection panel is open?
    No, only if the zipper is closed.
  • Is the Dual Wireless Sound for the Onyx Studio 5 compatible with the Onyx Studio 3 that also features the Dual Wireless Sound?*
    No. The Dual Wireless Sound featured in the Onyx Studio 5 only gives you the capability to connect to a second Onyx Studio 5. It is not possible to connect the Onyx Studio 3 and 5 together. The Onyx Studio 5 can only be connected to no more than one other Onyx Studio 5.
  • Is the E35 a wireless headphone?
    No. This is a wired headphone that features a one button microphone.
  • Is the E55BT and over-ear or on-ear headphone?
    E55BT is an over-ear headphone.
  • Is the Flip 7 waterproof and does it have a waterproof IP rating?

    The JBL Flip 7 has an IP68 water and dustproof rating, meaning it's protected from water and dirt.

    The speaker can be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.

  • Is the Focus 500 a water-proof headphone?
    No. Although the Focus 500 can be exposed to some water and sweat, overexposure can cause significant damage to the headphones and can compromise the controls.
  • Is the Game-Chat balance dial compatible with all platforms?
    No, it is compatible with PC and Mac, but not with PS4, XBOX One, Nintendo Switch or Mobile.
  • Is the Harman Kardon Allure speaker set to a specific language?
    It would depend where you buy it from. If you bought it in Germany, it will speak German from the start and if you bought it from USA or UK it will speak English. The langauge of the speaker can be changed in our HK Alexa setup app. Go to Settings, Device, Language and select your preferred language.
  • Is the IENC a wireless headphone?
    The IENC is not a wireless headphone. It is a wired headphone equipped with a 3.5 mm jack and a Noise Canceling box to control ambient aware sound.
  • Is the Inspire 500/700 a water-proof headphone?
    No. Although the Inspire 500/700 can be exposed to some water and sweat, overexposure can cause significant damage to the headphones and can compromise the controls.
  • Is the Inspire 500/700 a wireless headphone?
    Yes. The Inspire 500/700 is an in-ear Sport Wireless Headphone.
  • Is the J88a a wireless headphone?
    No. The J88a headphone is a wired headphone and does not have bluetooth capabilities.
  • Is the JBL DUET Mini a good headphone that I can work out with?
    Because the JBL DUET does not feature an IPX rating against sweat and water, we do not recommend that you perform rigorous athletic activity while using these headphones. If you are interested in sweat and water proof headphones, please visit our JBL SPORT headphone page on our website.
  • Is the JBL Soundgear collar flexible?
    Yes, two flexible joints permit you to expand the collar to make it easier to place it around your neck.
  • Is the Live 200BT waterproof?
    No. The Live 200BT does not feature any IPX rating so overexposure to both sweat and water can compromise the headphones.
  • Is the N20U a wireless headphone?
    The N20U is not a wireless headphone. It features a fabric cord with your standard 3.5 mm jack.
  • Is the phono section integral to the No. 526 or is it an option, to be purchased separately? Is it a different design from the one available for the No. 326S?"
    The phono section is integral to the No. 526, it is not an option. It is a different (new) design from the one available for the No. 326S. Because every No526 has phono (and line and digital inputs) the No526’s internal phono section cannot be ordered separately.
  • Is there a firmware update for the Authentics L8 / L16 as shown in JBL Music App v.3.0?
    With the release of v.3.0 of the JBL Music app, owners of the JBL Authentics L8 and L16 are now greeted with a message that an update is available. If you own one of these speaker systems, and you know that it already supports Spotify Connect, the update firmware is already installed, and you can ignore this message. If your speaker system does not already support Spotify Connect, the update is available for you, but you cannot perform it yourself, it must go to a service center to be updated. Please contact Harman Helpdesk or the distributor in your country for advice regarding servicing.
  • Is there an app for the EVEREST Bluetooth models that are not one of the ELITE models with ANC?
    No, the app works with the ELITE models only. These are the ones that feature Active Noise Cancelling.
  • Is there an on/off function on OR300?
    No, the headphones switch on and off with the Oculus Rift.
  • Is there a remote control on the cable that comes with JBL C45BT?
    No, this cable is straight, with no remote control. The headphones have remote control buttons on the ear pods, which can be used when listening over Bluetooth wireless.
  • Is there a remote control on the cable that comes with JBL E45BT?
    Yes, the cable has a one-button remote control and a microphone. This means that you can pause, resume play, you can pick up the phone and stop a call, and talk to other people through the microphone. There is no option to control music volume on the cable remote. That is only possible when using the Bluetooth system for wireless listening, with the volume buttons on the ear pod.
  • Is there a visual display on the JBL Bar Studio, Bar 2.1, Bar 3.1, Bar 5.1, and Bar 9.1?
    Yes. All but the Bar Studio model have an LED display on the soundbar's front panel. The display tells which source input, volume level, and sound feature you are on. You are able to dim the display, using the remote, during low light usage.
  • Is there a Wi-Fi signal indicator on JBL Control Xstream?
    There is a Wi-Fi indicator on the back of the main speaker, and when it turns amber, it indicates that the Wi-Fi signal is weak. Try to move the speaker closer to your Wi-Fi router, and when the signal indicator turns White again, then it has a steady connection.
  • Is the strap made with synthetic leather?
    Yes, the material used for the strap is synthetic leather (PU/polyurethane).
  • Is the subwoofer output on CinemaBase, a filtered signal?
    The subwoofer output on the CinemaBase, it's a filtered signal. By that we mean, it is not a full frequency signal, but filtered to match the low frequencies for a subwoofer.
  • Is the Synchros E30 a wireless headphone?
    No. This is a wired headphone that features a detachable one button universal remote/microphone. This headphone does not have bluetooth capabilities.
  • Is the Tune600BTNC water-proof?
    No. The 600BTNC headphone does not feature any IPX rating that protects it against sweat or water. Over exposure to water can compromise the controls on the headphones.
  • Is the UA Sport Wireless Flex sweat proof?
    Yes, the UA Sport Wireless Flex has an IPX5+ rating which makes it resistant to sweat and moisture.
  • Is the Xtreme 2 waterproof?
    Yes, the Xtreme 2 features an IPX 7 rating. IPX7 is defined as the speaker can be immersed in water up to 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.
  • Is the Y50BT a wireless headphone?
    This is a wireless headphone and also comes with a detachable audio cable that you can plug into your device.
  • Is this a wireless headphone?
    No. This is a wired headphone that uses an Apple lightning connector to deliver powerful and clear sound.
  • Is this headphone only compatible with Apple products?
    Yes, the Inspire 400 models are only compatible with Apple products. It features the three button microphone that can skip tracks, pause/play, answer calls and control the volume.

  • Is Volume Control Supported?
    This headphone does not feature volume control. You must manually control volume from your device.
  • I want to listen to stereo music through all five loudspeakers of my BDS system, but I cannot see if it is possible.
    This function is not available on these BDS units. So-called five-channel stereo is a feature which is available in Harman Kardon AVR surround receivers, but it has not been included in the BDS platform.
  • I want to reset my AURA Studio speaker, is it possible?
    Yes, it can be done very easily. 1: First power on your AURA Studio. 2: Press volume + and Phone button at the same time for 5 seconds. 3: All LED light indicators will flash for 1 second. 4: Your AURA Studio has been reset.
  • I want to reset my Cinema Base device, is it possible to do that?
    Yes, that is possible. 1: Turn on your Cinema Base. 2: Press surround and volume - button simultaneously for 5 seconds. 3: When the source button on the Cinema Base lights amber for 1 second and goes off after. 4: Your Cinema Base is now reset.
  • I want to reset my remote control, can I do that?
    Yes, press and simultaneously hold down the Aux and the Zoom (Blue) buttons on the BDS remote control for at least three seconds. The input selector panel buttons all flash three times.

  • JBL DRG doesn’t generate engine sound in my car.
    Please check with your car manufacturer to ensure your car supports CAN or K-line. JBL DRG only works with CAN and K-line to get the engine data for engine sound simulation. If your car does support CAN or K-line, please launch the JBL DRG app and check the engine sound volume bar (the right column with button marked with “E”) in the “Sound Mode” section to make sure it is not turned off.
  • JBL DRG is too big to plug into OBD II port in my vehicle
    Please use an OBD II extension cable in this case. An extension cable is not included in the package but they are readily available for purchase on-line.
  • JBL Free: Charging Information
    When you place the two Free earphones in the charging case, you will see a white led ring light up on both of them. At the same time, some of the four dot-leds on the charging case will light up to indicate the battery level of the case battery. When the earphones are fully charged, the white led ring goes out on each of them. When both are fully charged, the charging case charging level leds go out too.
  • JBL Free: Handsfree calls
    The JBL Free automatically switches from stereo to mono when making or taking phone calls. Voice calls will only come through the right ear piece for a more natural call experience.
  • JBL Free: Manual Re-pairing Left & Right Ear Pieces
    In the event that left and right ear piece pairing is lost, power on both ear pieces and press the buttons 3 times on each ear piece to initiate re-pair.
  • JBL Free: Manual Re-pairing to Bluetooth Devices
    In the event that ear pieces do not re-pair automatically to paired Bluetooth device, power off ear pieces individually by press and hold the buttons for 5 seconds. To enter Bluetooth pairing mode when ear pieces are powered off, press and hold on buttons of both earpieces for 8 seconds. Re-pair the right ear piece with desired Bluetooth device when LED indicator on right ear piece alternates between blue and white LED lights.
  • JBL Free: Pairing Information
    Remove ear pieces from the case. Both ear pieces should automatically connect to each other. Wireless connections are automatically established when the headphones are taken out of the case. To pair to a different device, press and hold the Right ear piece for 5 seconds as it alternates between blue and white LED lights. Make sure that the device you are attempting to connect to is in pairing mode. The JBL Free should display on discoverable devices within 3-8 seconds. Choose JBL Free and the headphones will connect after you hear the audio confirmation tone.

    Remove the Right ear piece from the case. (It should automatically enter into pairing mode and will alternate between blue and white LED) Make sure the unit you are trying to connect to is in pairing mode. It should recognize the JBL Free within 3-8 seconds. Choose "JBL Free" to connect.

    The JBL Free has an IPX5 rating that helps protect the headphones from sweat and moisture.
  • JBL Free: Volume Control
    The JBL Free X does not feature volume control. In order to adjust the volume, you must manually increase/decrease from your device.
  • JBL Headphones App: Personal Sound Amplification (PSAP)

    PSAP (Personal Sound Amplification) is a new feature accessible within the JBL Headphones App. When this feature is turned on, it works similar to Ambient Aware, but it focuses on picking up vocal frequencies in front of you. 

     

    1. GAIN: The Personal Sound Amplification function is designed to amplify sound in the vocal range, it can assist users with (limited) hearing loss to maintain conversations more easily, especially in noisy environments. It should then amplify the speech of the person sitting across from you, not the general ambient sound as with Ambient Aware. The algorithm uses beamforming to pick out the voice from the other sounds, much like what happens during a phone call, but instead of focusing on your own voice it focuses on the voice further away from you. The gain setting allows you to amplify those vocal frequencies.

     

    2. BALANCE: The balance setting adjusts the amplification effect between your left and right ears using the slider. When set to 0 (in the middle), both ears will receive the same amplification, but depending on the user’s personal needs/preferences, they can focus the amplification more towards either the left or right ear.

  • JBL Headphones App: Personi-Fi 2.0

    Personi-Fi 2.0 is a new feature available through the JBL Headphones App. This feature helps to personalize the sound using the best possible sound curve based on your hearing capabilities. It will first ask a few questions, and then check your current ambient audio. You will be informed that this step should be completed in a quiet environment. It will play a series of test tones in all the different frequencies wherein after each frequency test tone is played, it will ask you what is the lowest volume setting you can hear. Nine different sounds will be played in each ear (18 in total).

    Simply press and release the button when you hear a sound. After it goes through all the test tones, it then calculates the best sound for your ears based on the results. It allows you to demo the results by playing a track. You will be able to toggle it on/off to hear the difference.
