Google Assistant Not Making/Taking Phone Calls

As of December 1, 2022, Google Assistant on third party smart displays, soundbars, and speakers are no longer able to make a voice call to a landline or mobile number on the carrier network. Voice-over-IP calls continue to work. This is due to the ongoing infrastructure improvements.

Game-Chat Balance Support

For JBL Quantum 100/200/300 models, they do not offer Game-Chat audio dial function.
To get the Game-Chat dial feature, you need JBL Quantum 400, and up, then you can adjust game-chat balance by rotating the dial-up and down.

For models that support Game-Chat dial, when you rotate the dial, you will feel a notch that indicates 50% game and 50% chat. Or you can see the status on the top bar of the JBL QuantumENGINE.

For how long does the alarm sound, if it is not interrupted?

Horizon's alarm sounds for 3 minutes, then it shuts off, or rather it goes into snooze, for 9 minutes. Then it sounds the alarm again for 3 minutes, followed by snooze for another 9 minutes. After this final snooze period, it starts playing, and keeps on playing until it is manually shut off. The light shuts off with the audio.

Focus 500 Headphones: Pairing Information

To power on the device, place one of the headphones inside your ear and press and hold the center button on the inline mic. You should hear the audible voice stating, “powering on” and a blue blinking light should appear at the top of the inline mic. If this is your first time connecting to a device, it should immediately go into pairing mode. The device should recognize the Focus 500/700 Wireless headphone. Once you select that option, the audible voice should state, “connected”. If you are trying to connect to a different device, turn the headphones on and press and hold for 3-5 seconds for the headphones to start searching for a different device. The headphones should appear on your discoverable devices within a few seconds. You should hear the audible voice stating, “powering on….looking for device” You will see the Bluetooth light alternate between red and blue when it is in pairing mode. Once connected the Bluetooth will change to a flashing LED light and the audible voice will state, “connected”.

Try all ear tip sizes (S/M/L) to find a snug seal for optimum sound quality, and look for a balance of comfort and acoustic sealing.

Firmware Information - JBL Firmware Update App

If you are experiencing issues with your headphones' Bluetooth disconnecting and reconnecting while on standby, there is a new Firmware Update app to resolve this issue. Start by downloading the app "JBL Firmware Update" (see links below).

Once downloaded, you can update your headphones firmware from there.

Factory Reset Procedure

To reset the JBL Charge 5, Charge Essential or Charge Essential 2:

Volume+ & Play/Pause Long press for 2 seconds while the speaker is ON

Please note: If the Charge 5 was previously paired with any phones/tablets, please remove the speaker from your list of paired Bluetooth devices. Now it has been restored to its factory settings, it will automatically enter into pairing mode the first time you power it on.

Factory Reset Instructions for the ClearCall Speaker

To perform a factory reset:
First, remove the ClearCall from the list of paired devices in the phone or tablet's Bluetooth settings.
Then, press and hold the Bluetooth & Volume - buttons for more than 4 seconds to reset the ClearCall to factory settings.

Factory Reset Instructions

To reset the device to its factory settings:
Power on the speaker. While on, press and hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds until the speaker turns off.

Now that the speaker has been reset, make sure to remove it from your BT settings if it was once paired to other devices as the BT memory has been reset as well. Once you turn the speaker on again, it should automatically enter into pairing mode with a flashing LED. It should pop up on your discoverable devices under your BT settings and connect within a few seconds.

EQ Settings and Surround Information

In order to adjust your EQ settings you must follow these instructions: In your Windows 10 taskbar, right click on the volume icon. It should bring up your selected output device. If “Speakers (JBL Quantum *model* Game)” is not selected, please proceed to the next step.
In the upper right hand corner, select the arrow. This will display a list of output devices on your PC. Please select “Speakers (JBL Quantum *model* Game)” After selecting 'speakers' you will now be able to adjust your EQ settings to your preference.
