Make Your Drivers Seat the Best Seat In The House

The BassPro SL2 self-powered subwoofer fits under the front seat of many vehicles, and adds deep full rich bass to your existing audio system. Its shallow-profile, 8" woofer is coupled with a custom tuned enclosure and is driven by a powerful Class D digital amplifier which making it a powerful solution. A fully variable crossover and Bass EQ are on-board to tune the BassPro SL2 to your system

The 8" (200mm) woofer in the BassPro SL2 is designed specifically to provide low distortion and great bass performance in an ABS enclosure with a remarkably compact footprint.
The amp that powers the BassPro SL2 produces minimal heat, and it doesn’t require a lot of current from the car’s electrical system.
The BassPro SL2 employs high-pass filters and limiters that deliver exceptional at-the-limits performance.
A manual crossover control (50Hz – 120Hz) lets you adjust how much upper bass and mid-bass the BassPro SL2 produces. Fine-tune the crossover to achieve a smooth transition from the BassPro SL2 to the rest of the system’s speakers.
Level control adjusts the BassPro SL2’s volume to the other speakers in your system, while Bass Boost control lets you minimize peaks or dips in bass frequencies in your car’s acoustic environment.
For added installation flexibility, the BassPro SL2 features both line- and high-level inputs. If you use the high-level inputs to connect the BassPro SL2 to the head unit, an input load switch lets you switch from “Low” to “High” to achieve optimum results.
The BassPro SL2 is compatible with the JBL GTO-RBC included, which enables you to control the bass level remotely.

FAQs & How-Tos

  • Vehicles that have an Active Noise Cancelling system are prone to encounter sound issues when an after-market subwoofer is installed. The sound issue can be described as a hum or low-frequency tone. To understand why this is happening it's important to understand how the ANC system in a vehicle works.

The ANC system's main job is to pick up on any internal/external low-frequency sound, such as engine/road noises, and block them out. The signal is sent to its ANC processor to produce a reverse phase audio signal and is sent back to the speaker system. The inverted phase signal will cancel out the internal/external low-frequency sound, blocking out any unwanted noise.

When you add an aftermarket subwoofer into the mix the ANC system hears the subwoofer output as being part of the engine/road noise. The ANC system believes the low-frequencies being emitted by the subwoofer are part of the unwanted noise and this leads to the ANC system producing an out-of-phase low-frequency signal to block the sub's output.

To identify if your vehicle has an ANC system you can do one of two things.

    1. Look up your vehicle's specifications online and verify if an ANC system is installed.
    2. Drive your vehicle, play music, put your vehicle in park, and then either turn off the engine or open your door. If the subwoofer plays as it should you'll know you have an ANC system.

To fix the sound issue you'll need to disable the ANC system. You can accomplish this by doing one of three things.

    1. Contact your dealership to see if they can disable the ANC system
    2. Use an ANC Bypass Harness
    3. Disable the ANC system yourself
