  • This model is not supported by the JBL Partybox App.
  • You cannot download the JBL Portable App on a PC. This app is only available on mobile devices.
  • You can clean it by wiping it gently with a damp cloth. Take extra care not to let water leak into the speaker chamber, as it will damage the speaker drivers.
  • Your JBL speaker is waterproof with IPX7 rating. (IPX7 means it can survive immersion in 1 meter/3.3 feet for up to 30 minutes.) To maintain the looks and functions of your speaker, please make sure to rinse it with fresh water after using it at a swimming pool or the ocean, then dry off all covers and areas where water can gather. The standard for waterproofing is for tap water. Chemicals and salt in your pool or the ocean can damage the waterproof seals or harm the surface finish over time if not rinsed off after use.
  • In order to get the earbuds to power on, please remove the plastic film to allow the pins in the charging case to make contact with the contact plates on the earbuds.

  • First, ensure that you have the Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa apps installed on your device, depending on the voice assistant you want to use. Go to your app store to download the intended voice assistant app, then add your headphones as a device in the app if necessary. Finally, enable the intended voice assistant in the settings of the My JBL Headphones app and assign which earbud you want to use to control it. The voice assistant app must be open for it to work correctly. It can be opened from within the My JBL Headphones app by tapping the name of the required voice assistant after you have selected it for use and assigned a gesture to one of your earbuds to control it.
  • If you are having trouble pairing your headphones or if your device is asking for a PIN, please make sure to check all available BT connections in your device's settings. Verify that you are connecting to the headphone's product name that excludes 'LE'. The 'LE' connection is only intended for voice assistant feature compatible with your headphones. If the voice assistant feature has not yet been configured, this would explain why the 'LE' connection appears as an available connection, but cannot be used for Bluetooth audio.

The mic input is set to JBL Quantum Stream.

  • The PartyBoost feature is not available when your JBL speaker is connected to a computer via Bluetooth. This is a technical limitation. When connected to a computer, the computer is acting as the primary device. Therefore, the JBL speaker does not have control of re-transmitting the Bluetooth signal to other JBL speakers.

NOTE: Speakers effected by this are the JBL Flip 5, JBL Flip 6, JBL Charge 5, JBL Pulse 4, JBL Xtreme 3, and JBL Boombox 2, as well as all future products featuring the PartyBoost feature.
  • The Serial Number is located on the strap hook (see image below), it may be necessary to remove the strap to see it clearly.

  • JBL Quantum 300, 350, 400, 600, 610, 800, 810 ONE, TWS and Stream are working with the QuantumENGINE
  • The top panel LEDs are flashing because the OTA firmware update is in progress, the product should work after the upgrade is completed. It may have been caused by a previous interruption to an update.

It should be possible to resolve the issue by doing the following:

    • Plug in the power cable and wait for at least 5 minutes for the Partybox Ultimate to complete the update.
    • If the Partybox Ultimate stops flashing, but cannot power on, then perform a factory reset by pressing the two buttons below for more than 10 seconds: Moment (heart symbol) and Play (or through the JBL One app). After this has been done, press the Power button.
  • There is a known issue that Spotify Connect and Amazon Music are not stable over a wired connection. If you primarily use these services, it is recommend to connect to the home network via Wi-Fi.

  • Vehicles that have an Active Noise Cancelling system are prone to encounter sound issues when an after-market subwoofer is installed. The sound issue can be described as a hum or low-frequency tone. To understand why this is happening it's important to understand how the ANC system in a vehicle works.

The ANC system's main job is to pick up on any internal/external low-frequency sound, such as engine/road noises, and block them out. The signal is sent to its ANC processor to produce a reverse phase audio signal and is sent back to the speaker system. The inverted phase signal will cancel out the internal/external low-frequency sound, blocking out any unwanted noise.

When you add an aftermarket subwoofer into the mix the ANC system hears the subwoofer output as being part of the engine/road noise. The ANC system believes the low-frequencies being emitted by the subwoofer are part of the unwanted noise and this leads to the ANC system producing an out-of-phase low-frequency signal to block the sub's output.

To identify if your vehicle has an ANC system you can do one of two things.

    1. Look up your vehicle's specifications online and verify if an ANC system is installed.
    2. Drive your vehicle, play music, put your vehicle in park, and then either turn off the engine or open your door. If the subwoofer plays as it should you'll know you have an ANC system.

To fix the sound issue you'll need to disable the ANC system. You can accomplish this by doing one of three things.

    1. Contact your dealership to see if they can disable the ANC system
    2. Use an ANC Bypass Harness
    3. Disable the ANC system yourself

  • If you have a mesh network (more commonly seen in Eero Mesh networks), it is possible that you may experience your satellite speakers or subwoofer intermittently disconnecting from the soundbar. This is similar to normal interference that occurs with products on a similar wireless frequency. The special thing about Eero mesh networks is that they do not allow you to move a device to the 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz band. The system will automatically decide which devices should be on which band and will move them accordingly (switching whenever needed). Some of our soundbars run on a 5Ghz frequency which is where the interference can occur. Since we cannot change the signal in which they operate and we cannot change the band they are connected to via their Eero mesh network, there are a few things you can do to try and stop this from occurring.

    1. Move the mesh nodes far away from the soundbar
    2. Use the 2.4Ghz band instead of the 5Ghz band (if your mesh system allows this)
    3. Ensure to enable/utilize the MU-MIMO setting (not applicable to all mesh systems). Please refer to your router's website to see if MU-MIMO is being utilized by default.

    What is MU-MIMO?

MU-MIMO stands for Multi-User, Multi-Input, Multi-Output. This allows for the router to send a signal to multiple devices at one time vs. the previous version in which the router would be able to connect to multiple devices, but only send the signal to one device at a time.

NOTE: You may notice that when the soundbar is turned on, there may be a dip in the immediate internet speed, but it will go back to normal within less than a minute.
