It is not uncommon to have charging problems with True Wireless headphones. You may encounter that charging stops, does not start at all or that one of the ear buds suddenly switches on and begins the pairing process. This is almost always caused by dirt on the metal charging contacts. These contacts are vulnerable because they can easily be contaminated by sweat, skin grease, or ear wax. They are usually gold plated, but gold plating does not prevent surface dirt.
If you have charging problems, the first step is to always clean all contact points, on each earbud and on the charging case.
You will need: cotton cloth or makeup swab, cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol. Also a pencil with eraser for further cleaning.
Use a cotton swab with some rubbing alcohol to clean the charging terminals of the headphones. Rotate the swab and scrub lightly on each contact surface, then use a cotton cloth to remove any dust and cotton residue left on the headphones. It is important to perform this process periodically to keep your headphones clean, thus avoiding affecting the charging speed/quality.
Wipe the contact pins in the charging case with a clean cotton swab. The swab can be slightly moistened with rubbing alcohol, but it is important that the interior is completely dry before closing the box. Use the cotton cloth and wait for it to dry.
Repeat until the contact points are visibly clean, and charging should work as designed.
Try cleaning the contacts with the tip of a pencil and the eraser at the end of the pencil, the graphite and rubber can help to re-establish charging also.
This procedure can be performed on all TWS earphones and cases. Was this helpful? Thank you for your feedback! -

Check out this JBL In-Ear Fit Guide video, or read the below article.
In-Ear Fit & Comfort GuideA proper fit is the most important thing when using in-ear headphones (wired, wireless, TWS). Without a solid, tight fit the headphones will sound thin (lacking bass), not very loud, and will do a poor job of blocking out unwanted sounds.
In-ears, unlike an earbud design, are meant to be pushed into your ear canal, creating a tight seal. If this seal is not accomplished, you will not experience good results.
- Typically speaking, the medium sized ear tip is already installed on your in-ear headphones. If it feels tight or loose, try the other sizes.
- As you try each ear tip, rotate forward and/or back until you create a tight seal as seen here.
NOTE: The image shows a stick style in-ear, but this applies to any in-ear design. - As you are twisting and pushing you will hear the sound quality changing. When you accomplish a tight seal, you’ll hear it. You will have more bass than in any other position, and the leakage from outside noise will be minimized before ever turning on Noise Cancelling (if your headphones have Noise Cancelling).
- If you have one of our headphones that uses the JBL Headphones App, check in the app to see if there is a “Check My Best Fit” banner. This feature will walk you through getting the best fit and will let you know when you’ve accomplished it.
While this may seem a bit daunting, after doing this a few times, inserting the in-ear headphones into your ears and getting a good fit will become second nature and will take a second or two each time, not minutes. But it is definitely worth spending the few moments the first time around, in order to get the most out of your in-ears.
Still not satisfied with the fit? Please check out this Fit Checker Tool, which utilizes your camera and preferences to recommend earbuds that will not only fit great, but sound great as well!

As with all in-ear headphones, our range of TWS headphones can be susceptible to a build up of dust and earwax. This can cause low volume on one or both earbuds, or balance issues (e.g. right earbud is louder than the left earbud). To reduce the likelihood of these issues occurring, it is a good idea to periodically clean your earbuds and your ears. Clean the earbuds by removing dust and wax after each use, using a pointed toothpick to remove larger amounts and a small amount of rubbing alcohol applied to a cotton swab for final degreasing.
If you are experiencing volume or balance issues, always check for wax and dirt in and around the earbud and driver and complete cleaning of the earbuds as described above. If the issue persists, there may be earwax/dirt stuck in the small holes in the grille in front of the driver, preventing sound output. To resolve the issue try dipping the affected earbud tip into a solution of lukewarm tap water and a small amount of dish soap (washing up liquid). The earbud tip should only be put into the liquid up to a maximum depth of 1-2 mm only (see images below). Immersing the earbuds in water or putting the earbuds in water at a larger depth than this could void your warranty. Keep the earbud tip in the water for about 2-3 minutes, then wipe/clean the grille with a small brush (such as a toothbrush). The should remove the wax and resolve the volume/balance issues. Was this helpful? Thank you for your feedback! -
The top panel LEDs are flashing because the OTA firmware update is in progress, the product should work after the upgrade is completed. It may have been caused by a previous interruption to an update.
It should be possible to resolve the issue by doing the following:
- Plug in the power cable and wait for at least 5 minutes for the Partybox Ultimate to complete the update.
- If the Partybox Ultimate stops flashing, but cannot power on, then perform a factory reset by pressing the two buttons below for more than 10 seconds: Moment (heart symbol) and Play (or through the JBL One app). After this has been done, press the Power button.

This is because most Windows do not support A2DP stereo audio streaming via Bluetooth, the standard for music-listening through Bluetooth. The system will support keyboards, mice, printers etc. via Bluetooth, but not audio. It is necessary to download the proper drivers, either from the computer manufacturer, the software manufacturer or the manufacturer of the Bluetooth chip in the computer. Help to do this must be sought with the companies that supply one or more of these computer features. Was this helpful? Thank you for your feedback!

AirPlay uses a differnet network card inside the BDS. If it doesn't receive any IP adresses, it won't work. To check and see if your network card in BDS did receive an IP address, you can use an app called Net Analyzer for iOS and WiFi Analyzer for Android. Simply scan your network with one of them, and you should be able to see your BDS IP address, usually the IP after your main IP for BDS, should be AirPlay network details.
