  • The top panel LEDs are flashing because the OTA firmware update is in progress, the product should work after the upgrade is completed. It may have been caused by a previous interruption to an update.

It should be possible to resolve the issue by doing the following:

    • Plug in the power cable and wait for at least 5 minutes for the Partybox Ultimate to complete the update.
    • If the Partybox Ultimate stops flashing, but cannot power on, then perform a factory reset by pressing the two buttons below for more than 10 seconds: Moment (heart symbol) and Play (or through the JBL One app). After this has been done, press the Power button.
  • As with all in-ear headphones, our range of TWS headphones can be susceptible to a build up of dust and earwax. This can cause low volume on one or both earbuds, or balance issues (e.g. right earbud is louder than the left earbud). To reduce the likelihood of these issues occurring, it is a good idea to periodically clean your earbuds and your ears. Clean the earbuds by removing dust and wax after each use, using a pointed toothpick to remove larger amounts and a small amount of rubbing alcohol applied to a cotton swab for final degreasing.

If you are experiencing volume or balance issues, always check for wax and dirt in and around the earbud and driver and complete cleaning of the earbuds as described above. If the issue persists, there may be earwax/dirt stuck in the small holes in the grille in front of the driver, preventing sound output. To resolve the issue try dipping the affected earbud tip into a solution of lukewarm tap water and a small amount of dish soap (washing up liquid). The earbud tip should only be put into the liquid up to a maximum depth of 1-2 mm only (see images below). Immersing the earbuds in water or putting the earbuds in water at a larger depth than this could void your warranty. Keep the earbud tip in the water for about 2-3 minutes, then wipe/clean the grille with a small brush (such as a toothbrush). The should remove the wax and resolve the volume/balance issues.

    In-Ear Fit Guide

A proper fit is the most important thing when using in-ear headphones (wired, wireless, TWS). Without a solid, tight fit the headphones will sound thin (lacking bass), not very loud, and will do a poor job of blocking out unwanted sounds.

In-ears, unlike an earbud design, are meant to be pushed into your ear canal, creating a tight seal. If this seal is not accomplished, you will not experience good results.

    1. Typically speaking, the medium sized ear tip is already installed on your in-ear headphones. If it feels tight or loose, try the other sizes.
    2. As you try each ear tip, rotate forward and/or back until you create a tight seal as seen here. In-Ear Fit Guide - image.png
NOTE: The image shows a stick style in-ear, but this applies to any in-ear design.
    3. As you are twisting and pushing you will hear the sound quality changing. When you accomplish a tight seal, you’ll hear it. You will have more bass than in any other position, and the leakage from outside noise will be minimized before ever turning on Noise Cancelling (if your headphones have Noise Cancelling).
    4. If you have one of our headphones that uses the JBL Headphones App, check in the app to see if there is a “Check My Best Fit” banner. This feature will walk you through getting the best fit and will let you know when you’ve accomplished it.

While this may seem a bit daunting, after doing this a few times, inserting the in-ear headphones into your ears and getting a good fit will become second nature and will take a second or two each time, not minutes. But it is definitely worth spending the few moments the first time around, in order to get the most out of your in-ears.

Still not satisfied with the fit? Please check out this Fit Checker Tool, which utilizes your camera and preferences to recommend earbuds that will not only fit great, but sound great as well!

  • To perform a factory reset:
First, remove the ClearCall from the list of paired devices in the phone or tablet's Bluetooth settings.
Then, press and hold the Bluetooth & Volume - buttons for more than 4 seconds to reset the ClearCall to factory settings.
  • It is not uncommon to have charging problems with True Wireless headphones. You may encounter that charging stops, does not start at all or that one of the ear buds suddenly switches on and begins the pairing process. This is almost always caused by dirt on the metal charging contacts. These contacts are vulnerable because they can easily be contaminated by sweat, skin grease, or ear wax. They are usually gold plated, but gold plating does not prevent surface dirt.

If you have charging problems, the first step is to always clean all contact points, on each earbud and on the charging case.
You will need: cotton cloth or makeup swab, cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol. Also a pencil with eraser for further cleaning.
    needed-tools.png
Use a cotton swab with some rubbing alcohol to clean the charging terminals of the headphones. Rotate the swab and scrub lightly on each contact surface, then use a cotton cloth to remove any dust and cotton residue left on the headphones. It is important to perform this process periodically to keep your headphones clean, thus avoiding affecting the charging speed/quality.
    cleaning-earbud-contact-points.png
Wipe the contact pins in the charging case with a clean cotton swab. The swab can be slightly moistened with rubbing alcohol, but it is important that the interior is completely dry before closing the box. Use the cotton cloth and wait for it to dry.
    cleaning-charging-case.png
Repeat until the contact points are visibly clean, and charging should work as designed.

Try cleaning the contacts with the tip of a pencil and the eraser at the end of the pencil, the graphite and rubber can help to re-establish charging also.
This procedure can be performed on all TWS earphones and cases.

  • Yes. This product has battery power save features.
  • Yes, through Bluetooth restreaming. Tracks made available offline in Apple Music are DRM protected and are not playable in the Harman Kardon Controller app. To play these tracks, or any other Apple Music tracks, first connect to any Omni speaker via Bluetooth and then restream to the other Omni speakers in your house with the Link button, or by grouping different rooms in the Controller app. We are looking into the possibility of adding direct support for Apple Music, so check back for updates.
  • The speaker is not intended to play under water, but it will continue to play even though it is submerged under water.
  • No, you can certainly take off the front grill if you like the design of the speaker without the grill. However, do not touch the tweeters or woofers, as they can be damaged if you touch them. For ourdoor purposes, we do not recommend taking off the front grill.
  • No, it will not change the TruNote autocalibration results. TruNote equalizes the acoustics of the headphones to the specific fit to your head As is the case with any supplemental equalization setting, it will change how the audio sounds to the user
  • There is no plan for adding JBL Connect support for Playlist speaker. But you can group any speaker together that support Chromecast built-in for multi-room experience.
  • The core settings: EQ, smart button, auto features will be recalled from the headphone when recharged. Ambient aware settings will default to off when the headphone is restarted after charging.
  • Yes, our OMNI BAR+ supports standard CEC features such a wake-up and volume control via HDMI. Optical and analog input signals can wake up the Omni Bar, but if the source signal is too weak, the OMNI BAR+ will not wake up.
  • Yes, they are backward compatible with your existing Omni speakers.
  • Yes, it will only go back to default volume if the power is switched off or if the device is reset. The standard volume is set to 50%.
  • When connected to a device using the Wireless USB (A or C) dongle the head tracking feature (JBL QuantumSPATIAL 360) will work. To enable JBL Quantum 360SPHERE and spatial calibration the JBL Quantum Engine is required.

  • The head tracking will only work when connected via the wireless USB (A or C) dongle. The reason for this is that the head tracking technology uses a lot of processing power and a low latency connection.

  • Yes, if no audio is present and no buttons are pressed, DUET will go into standby after approx. 10 minutes.
  • No, the re-broadcast signal is in stereo. Stand alone speakers will play both Left and Right channels.
  • Yes. Just connect an Adapt to your existing Hi-Fi equipment or active speaker via the 3.5mm line out port to transform any speaker into a wireless speaker in the Harman Kardon Wireless HD Audio System
  • Yes, after 10 minutes of no audio activity, the soundbar will enter standby-mode automatically. Or you can do it yourself by short pressing the Power button.
  • Yes, when casting music to your JBL Playlist, your speaker is connected to Google Cloud, which will turn your smart device into a remote control, rather than streaming music directly to the Playlist. You can easily do other things with your phone while using Chromecast, such as gaming, texting, make calls, watch Youtube etc. This will not interrupt the music that you are casting.
  • Yes, they will work together. You can link rooms containing 1st generation Omni speakers with rooms containing 2nd generation Omni speakers and listen to the same music across all of them. Since the 2nd generation has a more powerful processor, we recommend connecting external sources like AUX or Bluetooth to the 2nd generation speakers rather than the 1st generation.
  • It will not upmix 7.1 as powered by the proprietary algorithm for the advanced surround sound. JBL uses binaural synthesis to use 1 virtual source per channel which leads to better precision.
  • No - it is not designed to work with a wireless microphone.
  • Only if you have pressed the button on the remote or Boost TV itself.
  • This speaker will go to standby mode after 10 minutes inactivity. It turn on when you start playing to it again.
  • In the ANC on mode, we take advantage of advanced signal processing to finely tune, and personalize the audio performance. In passive and in ANC off mode, that signal processing is not running, so you may hear a difference in audio performance
  • To minimize e-waster, we consciously choose not to include a USB-C PD Adaptor in our speaker packaging.

You can purchase the dedicated 15-60W JBL USB-C PD adaptor on jbl.com or any other retail stores. Simply connect the USB-C PD Adaptor with your speaker and enjoy the guaranteed performance JBL promised.

  • To minimize e-waste, we consciously choose not to include a charging cable in our packaging.

You can use any standard USB-C cable to charge your JBL product as well as a power adapter compliant with the USB-C standard.

Past product already have standardized USB-C cables, which can be reused for new products.

  • This is because standard USB charging is possible from so many sources and chargers, and also from computers. There is a charging cable in the box, which permits charging from all USB chargers of at least 1A capacity.
  • General Answer: When an input is set to SSP mode the No.585 acts as a simple amplifier. In other words, the volume control in the No. 585 is disabled and the gain of its preamp is set to 1, so the No. 585 functions as if the signal source were connected directly to its power amplifier channels. However, under typical listening conditions, a preamp is almost always operated with a gain of significantly less than 1. In fact, for the preamp in the No. 585 to operate at a gain of 1 requires its volume to be set between 66 and 67, which is likely much higher than anyone sets their volume control for ordinary listening. This high effective volume setting in the No. 585 is necessary so that the volume control in the connected AVR/AVP can be used effectively. But if that AVR/AVP is noisy, or if the audio system is set up in an area susceptible to electromagnetic noise, the noise will be reproduced through the No.585. This will be most evident when there is no audio playing through the system but is usually imperceptible when audio is present. In the SSP mode the No.585 system does not introduce noise, but simply amplifies whatever is present on that input. For the best performance care must be taken with the volume level of the source, and it is recommended to always use the balanced inputs (XLR connectors - see owner’s manual for details) for any inputs you plan to set to SSP mode. Technical Explanation: In the past, the differing number of channels in each component made integration between two-channel and multichannel components difficult. Sending multichannel processor output signals to a stereo Preamplifier distorts calibrated processor output levels. Multichannel processor volume controls adjust the relative volume level of all channels in unison. However, stereo Preamplifier volume controls adjust the relative volume level of just the front left and right channels, leaving the center, surround, and subwoofer channels unaffected. To avoid these problems when the No.585 is connected with an associated surround-sound processor, the SSP mode allows selected input sources to pass through the No.585 without interference. When SSP mode is activated the No.585 volume control is deactivated to prevent the No.585 from distorting channel balance. As a result, the processor controls the relative volume level of all channels while maintaining its calibrated output levels. To connect the No.585 with a surround-sound processor (see illustration in owner’s manual): 1. Make sure the No.585 and all associated components are powered off and disconnected from electrical outlets. 2. Connect the output connectors on the surround-sound source component to the input connectors on the surround-sound processor. For example, if the source component is a Blu-ray disc player, connect it to the appropriate input connectors on the surround-sound processor. 3. Connect the front left and right output connectors on the processor to the desired input connectors on the No.585. For best performance, use balanced connections whenever possible. 4. Connect the center, surround, and subwoofer output connectors on the processor to the appropriate input connectors on the power amplifier(s). 5. Connect the No.585’s speaker outputs to the system’s front left and right (main) speakers. To activate the SSP mode for a selected input: CAUTION: Before activating the SSP mode for any input, set the associated surround sound processor volume control to a reasonable level to prevent sending dangerous signal levels to the associated loudspeakers. 1. Activate the Setup menu by pressing the Setup button. 2. Select Input Setup, and press Enter. 3. Select the input you wish to configure for SSP use, and press Enter. 4. Select SSP, and press Enter. 5. Set the SSP parameter to On. 6. Press the Setup button four times to step backward through the menu hierarchy and exit the Setup menu.
  • General Answer: The volume control circuits in the No.585 have been designed to provide exceptionally high levels of accuracy and linearity, and have been tuned to provide the best possible listening experience. You may hear small clicking sounds when quickly adjusting the volume control during periods of silence – this is normal when there is no input signal. The sounds are greatly diminished under normal use when listening to active audio sources. Detailed technical explanation: The volume control in the №585 is built around a circuit architecture called an R-2R ladder, a highly accurate device. The R-2R ladder in the №585 is based on an R of 1000 ohms, which is smaller by a factor of 10-100 than most potentiometer-based volume controls. The result is a nearly constant bandwidth, from the lowest volume setting to the highest, of greater than 400 kHz, more than an order of magnitude above the upper limit of human hearing. Because the resistance value in the R-2R ladder is so small, and because all DC blocking capacitors have been eliminated from the signal path of the №585, the few micro volts present on the input and output stages can give rise to extremely small but measurable DC currents flowing in the R-2R ladder. When the user adjusts the volume setting, the miniscule changes in DC current flowing from the ladder into the output stage occasionally can be perceived as small clicks, typically audible only under extremely quiet listening conditions.
  • Since the No. 40 uses a card cage design, all of the No. 40 boards plug into a backplane. Since the No. 40s Video Processors backplane was designed before HDMI existed it cannot accommodate HDMI video, so the HDMI video signal is passed straight through from one of the three HDMI inputs on the HDMI card to the system’s display device via the HDMI output. Plugging the No. 40 HDMI card into the Audio Processor allows us to capture the HDMI audio signal and process it.
  • We do not publish a frequency response for these models because this is dependent on room acoustics and their internal DSP settings.
  • This is considered as extra equipment
  • This speaker has a USB-C charging protection safety feature. This safety feature will play an alert sound & cause the LED indicators to flash when the charging port has detected water, salt, or other chemical. When you encounter the alert you will need to remove the charging cable, wipe down any excessive moisture on or around the charging port, and leave the speaker in a area to completely dry off. Once it is completely dry, you'll be able to plug the USB-C cable back in and charge your speaker.

  • If you have a mesh network (more commonly seen in Eero Mesh networks), it is possible that you may experience your satellite speakers or subwoofer intermittently disconnecting from the soundbar. This is similar to normal interference that occurs with products on a similar wireless frequency. The special thing about Eero mesh networks is that they do not allow you to move a device to the 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz band. The system will automatically decide which devices should be on which band and will move them accordingly (switching whenever needed). Some of our soundbars run on a 5Ghz frequency which is where the interference can occur. Since we cannot change the signal in which they operate and we cannot change the band they are connected to via their Eero mesh network, there are a few things you can do to try and stop this from occurring.

    1. Move the mesh nodes far away from the soundbar
    2. Use the 2.4Ghz band instead of the 5Ghz band (if your mesh system allows this)
    3. Ensure to enable/utilize the MU-MIMO setting (not applicable to all mesh systems). Please refer to your router's website to see if MU-MIMO is being utilized by default.

    What is MU-MIMO?

MU-MIMO stands for Multi-User, Multi-Input, Multi-Output. This allows for the router to send a signal to multiple devices at one time vs. the previous version in which the router would be able to connect to multiple devices, but only send the signal to one device at a time.

NOTE: You may notice that when the soundbar is turned on, there may be a dip in the immediate internet speed, but it will go back to normal within less than a minute.

  • This can be caused by the “input switch” on the unit’s rear panel not being fully engaged in the proper position; make sure that the “input switch” is fully engaged in the proper position (RCA or XLR). Also, make sure that only one input connector is used at a time, i.e., only the RCA or the XLR. They should not be used simultaneously. Explanation: The “input switch” is actually a ground switch, not an input selection switch. By using the switch only to change the ground connection, the signal connections never have to pass through a set of switch contacts. This allows for superior audio performance and enhanced long-term reliability.
  • If the preset DAB/FM station signal is not strong enough the alarm will go off in buzzer mode instead. Make sure the signal is strong enough, by checking that the station plays without static or distortion (FM).
  • We believe the baseline performance of the QuantumSPHERE technology is cutting edge in terms of localization. The calibration feature improves upon this performance by calibrating the system to your individual anatomy.
  • There is a setting in the JBL One app called Bluetooth reconnection. You can change the behavior to enable it to automatically reconnect every time the speaker is turned on, if this is the behavior you want.

  • Vehicles that have an Active Noise Cancelling system are prone to encounter sound issues when an after-market subwoofer is installed. The sound issue can be described as a hum or low-frequency tone. To understand why this is happening it's important to understand how the ANC system in a vehicle works.

The ANC system's main job is to pick up on any internal/external low-frequency sound, such as engine/road noises, and block them out. The signal is sent to its ANC processor to produce a reverse phase audio signal and is sent back to the speaker system. The inverted phase signal will cancel out the internal/external low-frequency sound, blocking out any unwanted noise.

When you add an aftermarket subwoofer into the mix the ANC system hears the subwoofer output as being part of the engine/road noise. The ANC system believes the low-frequencies being emitted by the subwoofer are part of the unwanted noise and this leads to the ANC system producing an out-of-phase low-frequency signal to block the sub's output.

To identify if your vehicle has an ANC system you can do one of two things.

    1. Look up your vehicle's specifications online and verify if an ANC system is installed.
    2. Drive your vehicle, play music, put your vehicle in park, and then either turn off the engine or open your door. If the subwoofer plays as it should you'll know you have an ANC system.

To fix the sound issue you'll need to disable the ANC system. You can accomplish this by doing one of three things.

    1. Contact your dealership to see if they can disable the ANC system
    2. Use an ANC Bypass Harness
    3. Disable the ANC system yourself

  • Orange cable is JBL signature color!
  • This speaker has an auto calibration feature, which measures the space around the speaker and adjusts the sound quality based on the room around it. Auto calibration will automatically work when you power on the speaker and begin playing music. For the best sound, we recommend placing the speaker at least 18 inches (0.5 meters) away from any walls.

  • The remote is only capable of operating one device at a time (unless you have programmed advanced functions such as Volume, Channel or Transport control Punch-Through). When you press the Source Selector to operate your other product, such as the DVD player, the remote cannot control any other product, including the AVR, until you press the AVR Button again. To avoid your problem in the future, always press the AVR Button or appropriate Source Selector before you enter any command.
  • There is a known issue that Spotify Connect and Amazon Music are not stable over a wired connection. If you primarily use these services, it is recommend to connect to the home network via Wi-Fi.

  • If your Micro II does not sense an audio signal on its input, it goes into Standby to save power. It should wake up again when audio is sensed. Since Micro II senses audio on its input, not on the speaker volume, always turn up the volume on the source, then control speaker volume on the Micro II. This way it will not go into Standby unless music stops.
