The ear pads on the three second-generation Everest headphones are fixed to a plastic plate, held in place on the ear pods with small claws. It is not very easy to remove it, and sometimes one or more of the claws may break off. This means that it is usually best to have a service technician do the replacement, but if you have new pads at hand, and is handy with tools, you may do it yourself.Was this helpful? Yes, the cords on the new N40 are detachable. You can remove the cords from the top of the stainless steel earbud housing. Please make sure that you attach the left cord to the left ear plug and the right cord to the right earbud. You will see a red dot indicator for Right and and blue dot indicator for Left on the cable. There are two detachable cables provided. You can easily adjust the volume to your choosing while setting your alarm on the Horizon 2. When setting your alarm, choose the Alarm Bell 1 or the Alarm Bell 2 on the top of the speaker. As you go through your settings when choosing an alarm time, it will give you the option to adjust the volume setting you wish to have on the alarm. Just simply adjust the volume by turning the volume knob on the top of the speaker. After you choose the volume, press the volume knob once to move to the next settings option.
