  • No, the Bluetooth name is fixed and not changeable. If you have multiple ESQUIRE2 in your Bluetooth list, and when activating one of them, it should be the "first" on your Bluetooth list.
  • The ALLURE PORTABLE is not constantly looking for a wi-fi system. When you turn the unit on, it finds the wi-fi, connects, and begins working. When you move into another section with a different router, the ALLURE PORTABLE will no longer be connected. You will have to turn the ALLURE PORTABLE off and then back on again, so that it can find it's new wi-fi router.
  • Please note that the AUX source supports a variety of input connections. By pressing the AUX button on the remote several times, the input toggles between the different audio inputs. Please press the remote control AUX button repeatedly, until the front display shows the correct input source. This should set the AUX input correctly, and you should have audio back in your speakers, to let you enjoy your Harman Kardon system.
  • When the secondary speaker gets out of range, audio disappears, but there is no indication that the transmission is out of range, other than silence. Once they get within range again, the front panel LED blinks a few times, indicating that connection has been re-established. During normal operation, random blinking can be experienced, which is an indication of the wireless link having recovered from interference.
  • Make sure your WiFi extender's name is not the same as that of your main WiFi network. Please use 5 GHz WiFi extenders only for best performance.
  • The quality of content depends on your Internet bandwidth. The minimum Internet speed is at least 25Mbps (megabit per second) or above for the best performance.
When using the LINK BAR to the WiFi router, always use 5 GHz WiFi band for highest performance at any time.

If you are still struggling with the quality of your content, then we have added an Ethernet port (LAN connection), which allows you to wire the LINK BAR for a steadier connection and performance.

    More actionable advice:
    • Limit your device(s) at night or when you are streaming content that requires the best performance possible!
    • Upgrade older product that could cause slow data transfer.
    • Move devices that are capable of connecting to 5 GHz WiFi and leave "Legacy" product on 2.4 GHz only.
    • Upgrade your router. Upgrading to a newer generation router is cheap and effective way to improve your home network in every way. It provides both a better Wi-Fi range and stronger signal.
    • We are recommending that you go for a mid to high-level Wi-Fi router.
  • If you have updated the unit from a USB stick, performed a reset procedure and removed power from the unit completely for at least 10 seconds, and the BDS still does not work, please repeat the update process. You may want to re-download the update file as well. This should solve the issue, and we are sorry for this inconvenience.
  • Please note that this is a universal remote, which will work with most Android OS phones. However, if some functions do not work, we advise you to contact the phone manufacturer.
  • When using an Android device, you need to have location service active on your phone or tablet and make sure that you allowed "Google Home app" to use the phone or tablet location service. However, make sure your Wi-Fi router has UPnP enabled and that you do not use any network extenders while connecting the product.
  • Often, hum is caused by a ground loop. This is a problem that is sometimes created when connecting two or more electrical components together. Sometimes the problem does not lie in any one particular unit, but in how they're connected. If your subwoofer is connected to a different wall outlet than your system, try to move the subwoofer plug to the same outlet. This may require an extension cord just for the trial. If it works, you can permanently move the sub or use an extension cord. However, if the hum you are hearing is coming from inside the sub, or if it is constant even when nothing is connected to the inputs of the sub, there is something wrong with the sub and you should bring it in for service.
  • To use our ESQUIRE2 with your Windows system, you'll need to find a Bluetooth driver that supports A2DP Audio codec. HARMAN do not have these and therefore you will need to contact your PC manufacturer.
  • The system features an automatic mute function that becomes active after 10 seconds of no signal activity. Since the output level varies greatly between different genres and recording levels, it is highly recommended to set your source volume levels above 4, or preferably at mid-level, then controlling the listening level using the volume control provided in the speaker system.
