  • It will not upmix 7.1 as powered by the proprietary algorithm for the advanced surround sound. JBL uses binaural synthesis to use 1 virtual source per channel which leads to better precision.
  • Yes, they will work together. You can link rooms containing 1st generation Omni speakers with rooms containing 2nd generation Omni speakers and listen to the same music across all of them. Since the 2nd generation has a more powerful processor, we recommend connecting external sources like AUX or Bluetooth to the 2nd generation speakers rather than the 1st generation.
  • Yes, when casting music to your JBL Playlist, your speaker is connected to Google Cloud, which will turn your smart device into a remote control, rather than streaming music directly to the Playlist. You can easily do other things with your phone while using Chromecast, such as gaming, texting, make calls, watch Youtube etc. This will not interrupt the music that you are casting.
  • Yes, after 10 minutes of no audio activity, the soundbar will enter standby-mode automatically. Or you can do it yourself by short pressing the Power button.
  • Yes. Just connect an Adapt to your existing Hi-Fi equipment or active speaker via the 3.5mm line out port to transform any speaker into a wireless speaker in the Harman Kardon Wireless HD Audio System
  • No, the re-broadcast signal is in stereo. Stand alone speakers will play both Left and Right channels.
  • Yes, if no audio is present and no buttons are pressed, DUET will go into standby after approx. 10 minutes.
  • The head tracking will only work when connected via the wireless USB (A or C) dongle. The reason for this is that the head tracking technology uses a lot of processing power and a low latency connection.

  • When connected to a device using the Wireless USB (A or C) dongle the head tracking feature (JBL QuantumSPATIAL 360) will work. To enable JBL Quantum 360SPHERE and spatial calibration the JBL Quantum Engine is required.

  • Yes, they are backward compatible with your existing Omni speakers.
  • Yes, our OMNI BAR+ supports standard CEC features such a wake-up and volume control via HDMI. Optical and analog input signals can wake up the Omni Bar, but if the source signal is too weak, the OMNI BAR+ will not wake up.
  • There is no plan for adding JBL Connect support for Playlist speaker. But you can group any speaker together that support Chromecast built-in for multi-room experience.
  • Yes, through Bluetooth restreaming. Tracks made available offline in Apple Music are DRM protected and are not playable in the Harman Kardon Controller app. To play these tracks, or any other Apple Music tracks, first connect to any Omni speaker via Bluetooth and then restream to the other Omni speakers in your house with the Link button, or by grouping different rooms in the Controller app. We are looking into the possibility of adding direct support for Apple Music, so check back for updates.
  • Wireless Network connection is lost or not connected anymore

    In case you have lost the Wireless Network connection, recently changed your Wireless name/password, or changed your ISP (service provider), you may need to set up your Citation device again. 

    Follow our steps below to try fixing the issue and reconnecting your device again.

    1. Open your Google Home app Google Home app.
    2. In the top right corner of the home screen, tap Devices Devices to see your available devices. 
    3. Scroll to find the Citation device card. 
    4. Tap SET UP and complete the setup steps.
    5. All of your previous settings, account information is still attached to the speaker. You only need to add it again to your Wireless Network.
    Note: The name of your Citation device might be a room name such as "Living Room Speaker", simply tap the SET UP.
     

    Wireless Network connection failed

    If the above solution did not work and you still have issues with connecting to your new Wireless Network, then try following these steps:
    1. Reboot your Wireless router. In many cases it can help a lot with a little reboot!
    2. Reset your Citation device.
      1. Press and hold down the RESET BUTTON for 15 seconds, the front LED will light up indicating it has been reset.
      2. Your Citation device will now boot-up again. It can take roughly 45 seconds until it is ready.
    3. Try to set it up again via your Google Home appGoogle Home app
  •  All JBL Quantum headset models work only through 3.5mm audio jack (aux) connected to the Xbox controller. You cannot connect to any Xbox Series console via Bluetooth. 

    Please note: JBL QuantumENGINE is only available on PC.
     
  • The LINK BAR is always ON, and you can ask the LINK BAR questions whether your TV is ON or OFF.
    You can easily play music as well, there are no limits!

    Your Search history:
    Your search history on the LINK BAR will appear in your Google account's search history. Also, if you give the LINK BAR permission, it may access your data saved in other Google services such as Calendar and Gmail to answer questions you ask.

    Conversations and questions:
    Any conversation or search history is stored in the cloud via your Google account and saved until you choose to delete it in the Google Home app. The LINK BAR does not keep or store any data locally.
