  • Yes, the smooth leather headband from the K601 can be fitted onto the K701, but since it is probably no longer available as a spare part, the only option is to butcher an old 601 to do it. The work involved is very intricate and complicated, and paying a technician to do it is not an economical solution. Owner must be capable of completely dismantling the headphones, including soldering, and to reassemble them. And Harman cannot offer any assistance in doing this. As of late 2017, a new version of K701 is being marketed by AKG Professional. This version features a smooth headband instead of the version with bumps, so the issue no longer applies.

  • You can't use standard rechargeable batteries with the K912. If you still have the original batteries, and compare them to the generic batteries you are trying to use, you will see the difference on the - ( minus ) side of the battery. On the original battery that comes with the headphones, there is a bare metal band on that side, which connects to a sensor in the headphones ( you can also see this sensor inside the battery compartment, on the - side ). This is for protection, in case you have non-rechargeable batteries in the headphones and put them on the charger. This could cause damage to the headphones.
